A Year of Healing, Held in His Goodness

As I approach the one-year mark since my SCAD heart attacks and open-heart surgery, I find myself reflecting on this recovery journey. This past year has been both the slowest and the longest year of my life at the same time — healing follows its own unhurried pace across the seasons.

Recent follow-ups show my heart functioning within the 50–60 ejection fraction range — a healthy place and a gift I do not take lightly. I’m overwhelmingly grateful for this continued progress.

Beyond the medical side, this year has held so many meaningful moments — my husband Larry’s birthday celebration, and a memorable drive along California’s Big Sur coastline, calm, expansive, and grounding — a quiet reminder of how precious life is.

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!” — Psalm 107:1

His goodness has carried me through this transformative year, steadily and faithfully.
